What you need
- Date of Death
- Full name and usual address
- Death certificate or interim death certificate (scan or photograph)
- A piece of photographic ID, such as a passport of driving licence, to upload and verify your identity. (scan or photograph)
How to Tell Investec of a Death
Unfortunately, we are unable to notify Investec of a death, however you can tell them yourself by:

What documentation will you require to notify Investec of a death?
Investec asks that you provide the following information when registering a death with Investec:
- Notice of bereavement form
- Death Certificate
- Grant of Representation
- Proof of identity
- For sole bank accounts, withdrawal instruction
What Happens Next?
Once they are notified, Investec will freeze any bank accounts held in the sole name of the deceased. They will inform you of any other information they may require to settle and close any accounts.
