What information is required to tell So Energy of a bereavement

To ensure a smooth process, try to have the following information on hand when notifying So Energy of a death:

  • Date of death
  • Copy of the death certificate
  • The deceased’s So Energy account number
  • The deceased’s contact information, including address
  • Your name, contact information, and relationship to the deceased
  • Up-to-date meter reading
  • Details on the property (i.e being sold or will remain occupied with next of kin or partner)

What Happens Next?

If someone is remaining on the property, So Energy will arrange for the account to be transferred to the relevant person and So Energy will need to speak with them directly. If the property is being sold, the account will be put on hold, however, they may contact you from time to time regarding the sale of the estate.
