What information is required to tell Nationwide Pension Fund of a bereavement?

Nationwide Pension Fund asks that you provide the following information:

  • Member’s pension scheme number and user name
  • Their National Insurance number
  • Date of Death and personal details
  • The name and contact details of the person dealing with the death – don’t forget, if this isn’t you, that you will need to receive their permission to be able to pass on their details
  • If possible, any information you have regarding anyone who was financially dependent upon them at the time of their death, for example a spouse or civil partner, or children

What Happens Next?

Once notified, Nationwide Pension Fund will talk you through the next steps. If they require further information, they will contact you by telephone or email.

Date of Birth
Date of Death
Full name and usual address
Death certificate or interim death certificate (scan or photograph)
