What information is required to tell Nest Pensions of a bereavement?

You will need to have the following information to hand when telling Nest Pensions of a death:

  • Information and contact details for the member’s beneficiary, next of kin or executor now handling the estate
  • The original Death Certificate
  • The original or certified proof of identification for the beneficiary, next of kin or executor

What Happens Next?

Once you have notified Nest of the death, they will check that all documents are accurate and valid. Once checked, if all details are correct, they’ll send a ‘Payment instruction form’ to the person handling the affairs. Anyone receiving benefits from the deceased’s pension pot will need to provide their account details for where they want the money to be sent. Should they require further information they’ll get in touch with the beneficiary, next of kin or executor.
