Register the death with Life Ledger and allow us to make the notification. There is a short verification process to confirm your details, upload a copy of the death certificate and answer some questions for the Fund. Just press send when you are ready to make the notification and it is done.
As there is no limit to the number of notifications that can be made through the site, feel free to continue adding information for other companies. Press send for each when you are done, and those will be completed as well.
What information do I need to notify the Local Pensions Partnership (LPP) of a death?
Most pension companies require similar information, so you should ensure that you have the following information when you contact them:
- Member’s pension scheme number and employee number
- Their National Insurance number
- Date of Death and personal details
- The name and contact details of the person dealing with the death – don’t forget, if this isn’t you, that you will need to receive their permission to be able to pass on their details
- If possible, any information you have regarding anyone who was financially dependent upon them at the time of their death, for example a spouse or civil partner, or children
What happens next?
The Local Pensions Partnership will have their own processes to follow, but you will be kept informed as to what they are doing.
As for the rest of the situation, Life Ledger understands the frustration and difficulties that can accompany high-running emotions. Especially when you find yourself in a situation that challenges you, and in which you have no idea what to do. It’s why Life Ledger created a guide that will help you through this time.
The guide shows you what needs to be done, and how much you have left to do. And you can see that easily the largest headache on the list is notifying all the companies. By registering with Life Ledger you will save yourself all of this. As there is no limit to the number of companies that you can inform, and as the Service is free to use no additional headaches are given. Just peace of mind, and more time to spend with the ones you love.
